late fall break

l-leaves

leaves lay underfoot
lounging on the autumn lawn
looking at the sky

L  L is for leaves.

#AtoZChallenge: 26 posts in April, topics to proceed alphabetically. Theme optional.

My theme: a three-line poem each day (5-7-5, haiku form) with the first letter of each line the same as the letter of the day.

  2. What lovely images – both your words and photo. I love the idea of leaves lounging and looking from a new non-tree-attached perspective. Fun!

Thank you. Yes, I visualize them, hands clasped behind their heads to make a pillow, thermos of hot cocoa nearby as they reminisce about their summer exploits… bittersweet that they’ll soon skitter away to make room for winter. Gee, now I’m kinda bummed…
