Beautiful. I have a lot of Monarchs in my yard this month. I’m not sure what yours is. Doesn’t look like a Monarch but it’s beautiful. 🙂

My sister looked it up. We think it’s a Glover’s Silkmoth (Hyalophora gloveri )

I found it lying in the grass while out walking my dog and carried it home. Only while photographing it did I realize it was still alive. I would never have touched it had I known. Freaked me out.

I had a Luna Moth like that one year, just lying in the grass.

I think this one may have caught a windshield. It was pretty much a goner when I came across it. So I didn’t bother with mouth-to-mouth or anything. 😀
