I did not see a groundhog yesterday, shadowed or otherwise. Nor did I see my own shadow. I stayed inside, shying from the cold and wind and rain.
My doggo, on the other hand, made several forays around the fenced yard, but did not report back on what critters or what shadows he may have encountered. He usually plays things close to his vest that way. A pup of many barks, but few words.
More winter, or early spring? I must wait and see.

Beautifully presented, a nice, warm read.

It looks lika a Samoyed, so I assume it is a dog that is fond of the outdoors.

He’s an American Eskimo (Germanic origins and having nothing to do with eskimos). He’s actually kind of wimpy when it comes to cold and wind, but he does like being outdoors otherwise.

This really made me smile…..”but did not report back on what critters or what shadows he may have encountered”. Love the way you brought your own fur baby into the theme of Ground Hog’s Day. Very nice haiku!

Beautiful dog…glad he enjoys the outdoors even if he didn’t report any groundhogs 🙂

Thank you. He’s very good at reporting the movements of mail carriers, delivery trucks and various and sundry passersby, but he generally lets the critters be.

Yes, he’s the brains of the bunch here. The cat and I are in awe. 😀

I’m sorry I’m so late! Sounds like your dog enjoyed putting the Groundhog’s prediction to the test!
