Brainstorming in a Vacuum

“I wonder if I – “

“It wouldn’t work.”

“But what if – “

“You can’t. No training; no expertise.”

“But – “

“Can’t afford it.”

“I’m curious,” I say. “Do you even know

what we’re talking about?”

He glances up from the newspaper.

“Does it matter?”

  1. I love this. My husband (who runs a creative team) has a phrase he uses: “rain torming.” It’s what happens if you remove all the “b.s.” from brainstorming. And it’s not good. It renders it useless. You’ve got to be curious, and reckless, and throw it ALL on the table for the good stuff to spill out, too.
